Ice Skating Layouts

Hello everyone!  I was able to work on some layouts this past weekend with some good friends.  The first one I had sketched out on my gypsy a while ago and I had forgotten about it.   I remembered about it and decided to actually create the layout.  I like the way it turned out.  I used a bunch of different cartridges - A Child's Year for the mom and boy, Winter Woodland for the title, Winter Frolic for the Brrrr, Home Decor for the swirl, and Accent Essentials for the snowflakes.  All the white cuts are from glitter paper to give it that snow sparkle.  I had a lot of photos so I made a collage for the left page.

Here is the original sketch (which I modified some)
All my white cuts...

In using this DCWV winter stack that I love, I came across this great paper with the adorable penguin skating.  I decided to do another ice skating layout with some pictures from last year of my son ice skating for the first time...

And finally, I made a sign to take to the Walk for Autism which my family and some students participated this weekend.  The puzzle piece with the heart is from the Don Juan cartridge.  The rest is just my handwriting.  Still, i wanted to share.

I'm going to enter the first layout in the Cooking With Cricut swirl/twirl challenge this week.
I'm glad you stopped by and hope you return soon :)
Have a great week!

Snow Much Fun

A winter layout to share today from our recent trip to North Carolina.  This was the first time that my kids and most nephews have ever seen or played with snow and we really had a blast.  So this title, from Winter Frolic, was just perfect.  I cut it out of glitter paper for a "snowy" effect.  I added snowflakes (Accent Essentials) by the title and smaller ones by the snowmen on the right page to which I added light blue bling for sparkle.  I wanted to add lots of pictures of our snowball fight and this page allowed me to do so - I love collages!!  Take a look...

Thanks for stopping by!
Remember that our

Winter Fun - FCCB DT Project Challenge "Winter Warmies"

This week over at Fantabulous Cricut there is a "Winter Warmies" challenge.  Now, since I live in Miami, that is a challenge in of itself since we don't really have winter, but luckily, I just got back from a great family vacation staying at a cabin in North Carolina and I have some awesome winter photos with snow!!! Since we were completely bundled up in all the pictures, all of them worked for this challenge, I just needed to pick a theme for my layout.  I decided to focus on one of the most fun parts of our trip - sledding!  Throughout our trip I was just thinking about all the cute layouts I could make with the super adorable "Winter Frolic" cartridge and it helped me create the layout below.  Oh, I cannot wait to make more layouts using this cartridge! There is A LOT of dimension on this layout!  Just look for yourself...

The whole bottom part of the layout is recreated "snow" using cotton, which I added some glitter to make it sparkle.  The title and super cute boy embellishment (which I made to match my son!) are popped, of course!!  I arranged the pictures slanted to recreate the "downhill" feel of the sledding.

This title has a lot of dimension and sparkle to it, but this picture still doesn't do it justice.  First I flocked the "Winter" part and then I used some doodlebug glitter for the "fun".  I didn't feel the "winter" word was sparkly enough, so I added another layer using MS fine glitter and another brand fine glitter that I sprinkled on the rest.

Other adorable embellishments with a journaling tag...

The cuffs are flocked and I used MS drippy goo punch as a border on the right page.

Another close up of my boy on the sled...

I hope you join us this week at Fantabulous Cricut for our "Winter Warmies" challenge, too!

I will also be adding this layout into the Frosted Design challenge this week of using 3 or more photos on a layout.

As always, thanks for stopping by!
Be back soon because I have a couple more layouts to share this week!
Have a great week, everybody!

Now for my project...
I wanted to be unique and different, but I was lacking inspiration (I'm in definite need of some scrapping time with my friends!) and I kept looking around my craft basket trying to find something to create with no luck.  I knew I wanted to create something for my wall and I wanted to include pictures because I'm all about scrapping, all the time! LOL!  Then I came across this piece of foam that I had kept (its from the packaging of some furniture I had bought) after my sister had advised me that I could use it with some decorative paper and hang it on my wall.  So that became the springboard for my project...

I had some beautiful paper in a My Mind's Eye Christmas paper stack I had recently bought at Michael's so I arranged it like this...

In order to be sure the paper really stayed on, I used tacky tape...

I decided to scrap pictures of Christmas past in collage form that I could update/replace/add to every year if I wanted to.  I wanted a "Christmas"-y title and I went to one of my new cartridges (which I am in love with!), Winter Frolic, that had a great phrase and an adorable snowman (my favorite!).  To attach it to the wall, I made a bow out of polka dot ribbon and hot glued it to the back of the foam.  I brought two frames I had hanging in my front room down, hung up my new Christmas Wall Hanging and voila!

Here is a close up of the title.  It is stickled and the snowman is popped (of course, hence the title of my blog!).  I also added a little white flocking to the top of the letters "Christmas" to replicate fallen snow, but you can't really see it in the photo...

A close up of the top collage which I added "Christmas 2008" text to...

The bottom collage is from Christmas 2009...

And here is another angle of my project on my wall...

In honor of my first Fantabulous Cricut Crawl/blog hop and reaching over 100 followers (which I forgot to mention a couple weeks ago, oops!) I'm going to have my first giveaway!  It includes some pretty Basic Grey papers, matching flowers, buttons, ribbon, two holiday sticker embellishments and my cute little kissing reindeer from my previous post.  Take a look...
