Flowers & Butterfiles - Sofi's 1st Birthday

Today is my little Sofi's 2nd Birthday!
Tomorrow is her party and after I will share everything I made for that.
But today continuing on my trip down memory lane, I'm going to share a couple details from last year's 1st birthday party.  The theme was flowers and butterflies.  I like to be different, so I decided that her invitation was going to be a flower pot.  I love the way it turned out.  Here it is...

The flowers pull out to reveal the invitation...

I had bought her a "happy birthday" banner for the wall, but I wanted to personalize it, so I created something to go along with it...

The beauty is that later, I used both these items to create this scrapbook page...

I love dual purposing things!

For the birthday party, I also created two flower pots to use as centerpieces to match the invitation.  I kept one and gave the other to a great friend of mine who loved it.  Take a look...

I had to get my daughter the perfect outfit to match her party and I found it at Children's Place (love that place!).  But the mommy and the tia's had to match, too!  We found these amazingly perfect accessories to match the theme and Sofi's dress and I just have to share these pics...
Just look at her dress and our necklaces!

Here is a better pic of us (with my mom) looking at the camera...

Off to finish everything up for tomorrow's big day.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to let me know you were here (meaning, leave a comment!).
Have a happy day!

I Made the Chirp! & Boy Layout

I got some great news today that I made the Chirp this week (Cricut Newsletter for my non-scrapbooking friends) for my Summertime BBQ layout.  How exciting!  I didn't even know I had, since I hadn't read my newsletter, yet, but a great friend of mine told me (thanks Lisette) - so I checked my email newsletter and there I was :)  You can see it and some other great projects featured here on the Chirp link.

I wanted to post a quick layout that I just finished featuring my favorite boy.  It is all done using Graphically Speaking.  There's a lot on that cartridge, most people don't even realize!  So I wanted to feature a great picture of my cute boy and journal about him now at age 4...

One of my favorite things are the number strips that it cuts out.

I also have a super cute baby frame that I taught in a class tonight that I will be posting a little later this week, so be sure to check back!

School Layouts and Room Makeover

This is the scrapbook page that is currently on my fridge.  I change it up every other week or so.  This is last year's school picture of my little MJ in PreK3.  His first school picture - I'm so proud! This page is entirely done with graphically speaking.  One of my favorite elements is the page alphabet border which few people know is in that cartridge. The other element I particularly like is the book which doubles as an embellishment and my journaling block, where I wrote the important details of the grade, year, teacher and also a description of MJs day as told by him.
The double page below was a quick layout of photos of him at school that his teacher sent to me at the end of the school year alongside his class photo.

Here's a closeup of the left page - the title is from Sesame Street Font.

Room Makeover
Today I changed Sofia's room around and converted her crib into a little bed.  I wanted to make the room more toddler friendly and give her some space to play (since she never does in there, only in her brother's room).  Her 2nd birthday is soon approaching and a vanity and/or dollhouse are on the horizon, so I wanted to open up some space for those as well.  So here is a short tour of her room - and yes, there is a lot of Cricut in there, too!  From the vinyl letters spelling out her name on the wall, to all the flowers and circles (all made of paper, btw)...
