Mommy & Baby Layout

Hello everyone.  I've been m.i.a. lately, I know, sooooo much going on and no time or mojo to scrap, really.  But yesterday I had a little energy and a little time and I wanted to create.  I decided to look to a sketch I had on my desktop and it developed into a super cute page of my little Sofi.  I had these two adorable pictures of her with her baby doll.  She LOVES playing with babies and I love that she's so cute and girly, that way.  So I wanted to make a page that was just as cute and girly as her.  I grabbed the paper from my flower paper stash (who knows how old it is) and it just worked with the pictures.  I even got to use a bunch of flowers.  I added buttons to the center and used some scrapper's floss for the centers.  I welded the title on my gypsy (of course, lol!) and added doodlebug glitter to make it sparkle.  The pics are not the best, but I'm having a huge problem with my computer - it's full (of pictures, that is - didn't know it was possible to do that, but I have!)  Here's the layout, take a look...

I hope to be able to create some more this weekend, I'm on vacation - hooray!
Thanks for stopping by!

A Different Kind of Scrapping...

Wow, have things gotten busy around here!  So I haven't had a moment to scrap - in the traditional sense - but I have been busy creating all sorts of things.  Mostly school related and a lot of preparing for my son's 5th birthday - busy, busy, busy!  So I wanted to do a quick post (and yes, I am very aware of the time - it's when I do my best work, lol!) to show you all what I've been up to the last couple days.  I can't show you the invitations of my son's birthday yet because they are going to be mailed tomorrow and I don't want to ruin the surprise, but I can't wait to post them next week!  I will, however, show you some of the school projects...

Last week I was chaperoning a trip to Disney.  Now my group of kids is really special and I wanted us all to look the same, so I bought t-shirts and my nephew helped me design and iron them on.  I loved the way they turned out and the kids loved them too! (We were the only ones that had matching shirts)

I couldn't get the picture below to rotate, so you will have to turn your heads to see the design close up.  For years now I've had a name for my groups along with a symbol and chant.  It's all really fun, but the two C's you see is the symbol.

This is the back of my shirt...

Next is a vinyl project (my love for vinyl continues!).  At my school, we have a themed Gallery opening every 2 months where we feature paintings and artwork as well as student work.  Tonight we had a gallery opening called...

Now, the frames are not from the Cricut, our Media Specialist had those.  But everything else is Cricut, of course!  The title is a play on words (instead of Past Tense, Past Tens, since its all about the decades). I created it with my gypsy. I used Plantin Schoolbook, Cherry Limeade and Gypsy Font - all welded, of course!

Finally, tonight my sister needed to create a poster to hang in her classroom tomorrow, so again it was time to create.  I used my go to font for school - Mickey Font - and welded it on my gypsy.  For this I added a lot of texture.  You will see below...

So although I haven't actually scrapped, I've done quite a bit of creating!
I hope you've enjoyed seeing what I've been up to.  I hope to have a layout to share by this weekend since I will be cropping with my friends.
Thanks for stopping by and come back soon!

Love Birds

I found this new blog called Sketches in Thyme that had a really great sketch and I got a great idea for what to use it for - the pictures my hubby and I took during our anniversary a couple weeks ago.  Now I don't usually use sketches.  I have tons of them saved on my computer, but for some reason, everytime I start a new layout, I create one from scratch.

So here is the sketch for their Challenge #9.
I was super excited to actually find a use for a sketch so quickly!  I also remembered a ton of paper I had bought back during Valentines from BoBunny which I never really used from there Love Bandit line, so it worked perfectly for the theme and coloring of these pictures.

For my layout, I changed it up a bit, instead of a circle, I used a heart on its side (from create a critter), because it worked much better with the topic of my page.

The title is from Cherry Limeade (which I've had for a couple weeks, but wasn't sure if I was going to keep it.  Today it made its debut out of the box, LOL!).  The other embellishments are cut out from the  same paper line.
I wanted to put the occassion somewhere so I created a little heart embellishment to show its our 7th wedding anniversary.

I'm going to journal a lot for this, so I haven't decided if I'm going to tuck it behind the page (I left a space at the top between the red and scalloped papers in case I decide to do this) or create a double page layout and use the other side just for journaling.  But I can do that later - right now, the memories and pictures are preserved and I love the way it all turned out...thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to leave a comment, I love reading them!
