Disney Layouts - Part 5 - Girly, Minnie & Princesses

I spent a wonderful day scrapbooking today at the "Crop Out Cancer" event held by Paula from More than Favors and Momo from Made by Momo as they raised money for Breast Cancer Awareness.  It was great to be around my friends and so many wonderful ladies, doing what we love and helping out such a worthy cause!  I completed a whole bunch of Halloween Layouts that I will share next week!

For today, I continue with my Disney Layouts (only 2 more posts to go to finish showing you all the layouts in the album!).  Today I focused on more girly layouts from the album.  The first I absolutely love because its of my little Minnie!  I used Jubilee and Mickey-n-Friends for the font and Minnie.

With these two layouts, I had one sheet of a really cute patterned paper, but I wanted to create a two page layout, so I cut a part of the paper and used one part not the left side and the other on the right with coordinating card stock on both to bring them together.  It worked great, check them out below...

After waiting 45 minutes in line to meet the Princesses, Sofi wanted nothing to do with them.  She was fine with all of the other characters, but with the Princesses, she started crying - go figure!  That's the reason for the title in the layout above (which is from Alphalicious).  The layout below features one of my favorite Martha Stewart punches as the top border and the corner punch for each of the photo mats.   The title is from Happily Ever After.

Sofi wore this little crown pin on her head and she looked so cute.  I created a matching paper doll using Once Upon a Princess (I even replicated the design on her shirt on the paper doll!).

Crafty Chics is having a Disney Link Up Party that I have been posting to all week.  For more inspiration for those Disney Layouts, be sure to check that out HERE.  I plan to link up again with the minnie layout.
I have two more days of Disney Layouts, I hope you are enjoying all I've shared so far.   Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to let me know you've stopped by with a comment below!

OPA! Fun Layout

Hello everyone!  I have a fun layout to share with you all.  Last year, we had this super fun night at a new club called "OPA!"and I had a ton of great pictures.  I wanted the layout to be girly and fun and I wanted to put a ton of pictures - I put 11 pictures on this layout!!

I knew that I wanted to use this great cut from Rock Princess cartridge, "Rowdy" with the girls dancing and rocking out.  So it sort of became the inspiration for the layout.  Now, to kinda match the font used in the rowdy cut, I used Storybook for the "OPA!" title.  The swirls are from Rock Princess, too.  I also cut "dance" using Wall Decor & more.

I had one more problem to deal with, I wanted to journal all about the night, but I didn't really have any space and I didn't want to clutter the look of the layout, so I decided to create an interactive element by creating a little flap where I placed the circle photo, added bling around it and the word "fun times" to use to pull open and read the story inside.

I also came across a new blog that I really like called "Whimsical Wednesdays" and they have challenges each week.   I'm entering this layout into their "Interactive Fun" challenge.

Come back tomorrow for yet another layout!  I'm on a roll!
Have a great day everybody!

Pinky Princess Layouts and New Scrap Friends!

I'm finally able to post, hooray!  My computer is unable to upload any more pictures (memory full - needs to be fixed!!) and post anything to my blog :( so I needed to find a way to get the pictures from my phone to my blog and I was finally able to do it (thank you Picasa Web Albums!!).  This week I introduced some friends from work to the world of scrapbooking - I love doing that!  Since they hadn't really ever scrapped before, I decided to prepare a little coordinated set for each to get them started.  I made little containers using Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and in them I put some ribbon, buttons, bling and pop dots.  I then put a couple sheets of cardstock and patterned paper under that matched what was in the containers.  They came into my scrapbook suite and were in awe (it does kinda look like a store, lol!) and after scrapping with lots of my toys, they were hooked!!!  Check them out below, with completed pages and all!  I'm so proud!

As for me, in my cleaning and reorganizing of my room, I came across this old, precut diecut sheet (the kind that you punch out of a page) that were super cute and girly, so I decided to make something with them.  I added pictures of my little Sofi playing dress up.  The picture on the left is her dressed up as a princess the day of the Royal Wedding (its on the TV in the background) because while we were watching it together, she wanted to be a princess, too!

After I'm done scrapping a page, I have all of these leftovers and the thought of having to find a place for them is a little dreadful for me, so a lot of times, I try to create a quick page or card with the leftovers, instead.  The page below is the outcome of just that.  At night, after the kiddos went to bed, I had these few diecuts leftover and decided to create a page with them.  I wanted a premade title, so I went to Once Upon a Princess and found a great one for the page and then scrolled through my pictures for ones I hadn't scrapped that worked with the page and found the perfect ones (they even highlight her butterfly bow, matching the page, lol!). This is what the final layout looks like...

So, as always, thanks for stopping by!

Have a great weekend!

Tiny Dancer

Hello everyone!  I've got a super-duper cute layout to share today.  I have these fantastic pictures of my daughter in her first tutu (thanks to Marylin who put it on her as soon as she saw it!).  I had been waiting to do this page for a while now, but didn't quite have the inspiration.  About a week and half ago, Jean from Jean's Crafty Corner, a blog I follow regularly, had created a layout with the cute ballerina.  It reminded me that I had an unopened fantastic cartridge, Twinkle Toes, that would be perfect for this layout.  I matched my doll to my adorable daughter, with the dark hair, the outfit and I even used tulle to create the "tutu".  The title is from Once Upon a Princess and I love that it has little accents (like a little tutu and bows) on the title.  I love the way this turned out and it made the wall - my hubby already put it up and everything!  So here it is....

I also wanted to share an awesome resource with you all that I recently discovered - its Cricutsearch.com
Whenever you are looking for an image and you don't remember which cartridge has it, it will not only tell you the cartridge, it will even give you a screenshot of where in the handbook it can be found.  I've found it really useful and wanted to share the tip!

Tomorrow I have another great layout to share, that I'm putting the finishing touches on now.
Hope to see you back then!
Thanks for stopping by!

If the Crown Fits Layout

This past month I taught a Cricut class exploring the Once Upon a Princess cartridge.  This cartridge is so super duper cute!  Besides the adorable dolls and outfits, it has tons of phrases and other icons.  I had fun making this layout for pictures of my little girl which I will be adding soon, but I wanted to share the layout.  It has a lot of layering and although it doesn't look like it, it took quite a bit of time - but all worth it because its all about the details!  Of course, it's all stickled and popped...that's my motto!

My First Post!

I'm excited to be starting this, but a little anxious since I'm not sure if I will be able to keep up with it in my entirely too busy life. So I'm going to keep the pressure off and post when I can, so if you want to know when new posts are up, be sure to sign up to be a follower (just getting the hang of that, too, LOL!). Since scrapbooking and my cricut are my obsession, I wanted a way to share all the things I make with others who love it, too. So here I am, giving it a shot, trying out this "blogging" thing that so many people are doing, and seeing how it goes. So my first layout post is going to be the class that I taught tonight at My Paper Tree House, "Hello Cutie" using the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge. My daughter was the inspiration for this one, since Hello Kitty is her favorite (and one of mine, too!). I have a bunch of pics of her with her Hello Kitty doll and shirt that will be put on this layout. This cartridge is fun and easy to piece and is simply adorable. Now that I've decided to make her 2nd birthday Hello Kitty themed, this will be one cartridge that will be getting lots of attention! My other layout is one that I had done quite a few months back, but had no pictures, I had just loved the papers. So I took it out and found the perfect pictures to go with it and found the perfect title in the Once a Upon a Princess cartridge - a perfect match! I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment!
