Buzz Lightyear Party - Part 1

Hello everyone!  Not a lot of time today to post, but wanted to share a couple of the things I made for my son's birthday party this weekend.  I haven't even had a moment to upload all the pics, but hope to this week so I can share some other things, especially the AMAZING cake that my friend Marylin brought to the party.  I kept it simple for this party, it was at a park and I wanted a sign for the entrance.  So my husband brought me an outdoor sign which I covered with blue poster board and then I created the "Welcome Space Rangers..." sign for the entrance to our pavilion.  To make the green letters pop, I stitched them with my white pen.  I used Mickey Font (a definite fave!) and Accent Essentials for the starburst under the 5th.  Here it is...

So excited to share this, my very talented nephew drew this from scratch!  I wanted to create a game for the party and my nephew came up with this idea to draw Zerg (the nemesis of Buzz Lightyear) and then have the kids shoot at him (like the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disney).  He did such an impressive job on this!  We then found a target clip art that worked perfectly, which we popped onto Zerg.  Isn't this great?!

I realized after I sent the invitations that I hadn't indicated which pavilion we were in, so I made another sign, although not as cute as the welcome sign, to place in front of the park for people to see when they got to the park to know where to go...

If you didn't get a chance to see the invites I made for the party, you can check them out (as well as a little gypsy tutorial on how I made them) HERE.

Oh, I almost forgot, I made the Chirp again, with my Tiny Dancer layout - it's the featured picture!  Woohoo!  You can check the newsletter HERE and you can check out my blog post with closeups of my Tiny Dancer HERE.

I hope to be able to upload more pictures tomorrow so I can share more pics of the party.  I hope you come back by to check them out.
Thanks for stopping by!

Sleeping Beauty - Flourishes & Chirp!

I am so honored! I was again highlighted in the Chirp! for my Thanksgiving Turkey layout.  If you haven't seen my Thanksgiving layout with the adorable turkey, you can click HERE to see the original post on my blog.  On to the rest of my post...

Bitten by the Bug 2 is having a challenge using a flourish on the Cindy Loo cartridge.  Now, I don't own that cartridge (as hard as that is to believe, lol!) but I do love the flourishes on the Home Decor cartridge and I use them often.  This layout I'm sharing tonight is showcasing those flourishes from that cartridge.  The title is from Alphalicious and the background frame is from Storybook.

This picture doesn't do the layout justice, the colors didn't come out right, but it's the only one I have, so bear with me. The title matches the page perfectly - she's sleeping, she's definitely a beauty and this took place after a jam-packed day of activity at Disney, home of Sleeping Beauty.  I love when something comes together so well!
Originally this layout was going to go in my Disney album since it was taken at Disney, but I love it so much that it will be placed on the wall of my scrapbooking room, instead.  There will be more flourishes in an upcoming post, so stay tuned!  And Monday will be the debut of my first Fantabulous Cricut DT project - be sure to come see it and join in on their challenges.  You still have time for this week's challenge which is "bird bonanza" to use a bird and at least one cut from your cricut.

As always, thanks for stopping by!!

Owl Together and "Chirp"in' Good News!

Hello everyone!  Just got around to sitting at my computer and looking at my phone when I see a text from a dear friend (thanks, again, Lissette!) congratulating me on making the Chirp, again, for not one, but TWO of my projects, Cheerleader Stars and Seashore Layout...WOW!  Woohoo!  I'm so very excited for this kind of mention :)

I am teaching this layout class Wednesday night (9/15) at my Paper Treehouse and there are a couple spots still open for anyone in the Miami area, if you're interested.  And contrary to what the class description says, you do not need to have the Hoot 'n Holler cartridge (just bring a 12x12 cricut mat)!

Its a really fun layout using a bunch of different cartridges, but its really all about the owls - aren't they just the cutest!!  There is tons of embossing on this layout, and of course, everything is stickled and popped!

So here is the layout...

The left page...

and the right...

But for me, it's all about the details!  Take a look...

Hope to see some of you in my class tomorrow!  I might have some kits available, it you're interested, please email me (Lcoya27@gmail.com)!
Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!

I Made the Chirp! & Boy Layout

I got some great news today that I made the Chirp this week (Cricut Newsletter for my non-scrapbooking friends) for my Summertime BBQ layout.  How exciting!  I didn't even know I had, since I hadn't read my newsletter, yet, but a great friend of mine told me (thanks Lisette) - so I checked my email newsletter and there I was :)  You can see it and some other great projects featured here on the Chirp link.

I wanted to post a quick layout that I just finished featuring my favorite boy.  It is all done using Graphically Speaking.  There's a lot on that cartridge, most people don't even realize!  So I wanted to feature a great picture of my cute boy and journal about him now at age 4...

One of my favorite things are the number strips that it cuts out.

I also have a super cute baby frame that I taught in a class tonight that I will be posting a little later this week, so be sure to check back!
