Cruise Layout

Hello everyone!  I hope you enjoyed my "Aquaholics" layout as Guest Designer for Whimsical Wednesday!  If you didn't get a chance to see it, just keep scrolling after this post or click on "Older posts" and you should come across it!  I know I promised some more funny pictures on today's post, but you will have to wait till tomorrow because I just finished creating another layout that I wanted to enter into two challenges, one over at Cricut 360 for their "Transportation Challenge" and another at Frosted Designs for their "Circle" challenge.  In thinking about what to create, I decided to make the opening page for my upcoming cruise this coming week.  I always buy the cruise photo that you take right at the beginning and use it on my opening page, so now the layout is ready and waiting for the picture. I can't wait!  Here is the layout...

I used a bunch of different cartridges.  I used Summer Vacation for the "Cruise" and the actual ship.  I colored in the top to look like Carnival Cruise line ship which I will be going on.  The title is from my current favorite - Baby Steps and the anchor is from Going Places.  I love the way it turned out!  Off to enter them in the challenge!  Come back tomorrow for another layout!!

UR Here - Travel Layouts

This new line of paper came in and I was instantly inspired!  I LOVE to play with paper and this line had so much to play with that instead of one layout, I created two!  I still have some scraps laying around this table so who knows if I'll make them into another layout or something.  On this layout I decided to use some cuts from an old cartridge - Going Places - which had the perfect accents to go with it.  See for yourself...

Family "Summer Vacation"

Here is a new layout that I created using the Summer Vacation cartridge.  I loved these cuts on the cartridge and when we went to this amusement park in Myrtle Beach with the same looking wooden roller coaster and ferris wheel, I was ecstatic (because I would get to use my cartridge...you scrapbookers out there understand, right?!).  I knew I wanted to use these images cut large.  This was another gypsy designed layout that I designed during our road trip.  I also knew that I wanted to use tons of pictures because I took A LOT, but I'm not all about making 30 layouts for a single event in most cases (exceptions of course are Disney, Christmas and my kids' birthdays which end up getting their own album).  So I planned it to fit my collages, with focal point photos on the left page.  I also used a ticket as an embellishment/journaling block.

I made most all of the cuts in white to stand out against the background paper and to match the real thing.  I also added TONS of stickles to replicate the look of the rides as we saw them.  Here are some closeups of the stickle (and pop!)...

Road Trip

I hadn't seen this week's challenge on Fantabulous Cricut till last night.  When I did, I was so excited because I had actually sketched a layout of my road trip while on my road trip!  It was saved in my Gypsy (I so love my Gypsy!!), see...

So last night, when I got to my scrapbooking room, I started looking for the papers to make this layout happen.  I found the perfect paper of a road map in an old K&Co stack that I had used for my cruise album 2 years ago.  I started printing pics as my cricut was making the cuts (gotta love those layers on the gypsy!).  I love that I can use a variety of cartridges and have them cut all together.  On this layout I used a bunch of cartridges, particularly Summer Vacation (lots of great stuff on there!), Going Places, and Everyday Paper Dolls.
Here is the final product:

I'm really into embossing lately, so all my titles were cuttlebugged!

I wrote in the price of gas that we paid to keep record of it because gas prices have changed so dramatically through the years, I want it documented in my scrapbook!

This cut started out as just an embellishment.  Then it took on a life of its own as I put dots for our stops and then decided to include all the journaling on there, too.  Luckily for me, I can make my handwriting fit in pretty much any space (some of my friends hate me for it, LOL!) and so I did.  I really love to journal and in my own handwriting because I think its important.

I had fun making this layout and I hope you like it too!  Be sure to leave a comment - I love those! Thanks for stopping by!

Seashore Layout

I was excited to make this layout because I had sketched it out in my gypsy during our trip and it came together just how I had imagined.  I knew I wanted a collage of pics on the right page and a focal point photo on the left page.  It is using a whole bunch of cartridges and lots of embossing (I do love my cuttlebug!).  At the Fantabulous Cricut blog they are having a tropical theme challenge this week so I think this fits right in.

Here is a close up of the left page...

And here's the right page...

Lots of embossing, sanding and inking on my title..

I was excited to use my Summer Vacation solutions cartridge...
