Christmas Cheer Layout and Blog Candy Winner!

Only 2 more days, everybody...Anyone else feeling the clock ticking?  Well I am!  I've been trying to wrap and get things done, but it's a little difficult with my kiddos around.  I had a little time today thanks to my husband, but not enough to really put a dent into my to do list.  But I did create something that I love, but can't show on the blog yet because it's a secret till Christmas.  I promise to post afterwards.

Today, I wanted to show one of my Christmas layouts.  It mainly uses the cartridge that it is titled for, Christmas Cheer.  But I wanted to create gingerbread looking cookies on the right and I don't have that new cartridge, but I have plenty others that I opted for including Stretch Your Imagination for the gingerbread and George for the star.  There are lots of close ups, just scroll...

I also wanted to announce the winner of the Blog Candy from last week's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl.  A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who stopped by my blog, commented and even became followers!  I feel honored.  So without further ado, the winner is Nicolle, who said...

Wow I love your project. What a beautiful collage and your work is awesome. I became a follower. thanx for the opportunity to win....:)

You have two weeks to claim your prize!  I've emailed you and hope to hear back from you soon!

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Santa Frame

My kids have taken the cutest photo with Santa.  I wanted a place to display the kid's photo with Santa, year after year.  Last year, I decided to create a frame, which I put together super fast, minutes before we were getting to my sister's house for Noche Buena dinner, because I wanted everyone in the family to see the picture.  And if you know me, I like to do things outside the box, so instead of just taking the picture, I took the picture in this frame I created.  I love these frames.  I've posted quite a few on my blog now, but they are all different because they are so versatile!  So here it is, there will be two photos - one with last year's picture and the other with this year's picture...

2009

2010

Not only does this decorate my table in front of the Christmas tree, as I change out the picture, I see how the kiddos have grown and changed!  And since every year they take a picture with Santa (for at least another 8 years), I have a "scrappy frame" that I can use year after year.

Only a couple more days till Christmas!
Still so much to do, but I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!

Thanks for stopping by!

Candy Cane Reindeer & Teacher Gift Frame

This past week we worked on another craft project for school.  Since Friday was the last day, we made candy cane reindeer for MJ to take to school and give to his friends and teachers.  It was a family project and even little Sofi got involved.  She would get two candy canes and hold them while I wrapped them with brown yarn.  My hubby would cut the yarn and MJ would create the face all on his own with glue dots.  He was so proud that he had such an important job!  Check out how cute...

But next I had to figure out how he was going to transport them to school.  I was searching in my scrap room when in runs MJ, "Mama, I found a bucket we can use" which cracked me up - he is so resourceful!  When I looked at it, though, it had an easter bunny, so it was time to scrap it.  I let MJ choose the paper to cover it with and then we added a snowman that he had made of foam and I cut a tag on the Cricut and wrote in the title.  Here it is...

For his teacher, I decided to create a 12x12 frame.  I had made one before for his previous teacher, so I used the same idea and tweaked it a little.  I wrote her a heartfelt message and glued it to the back of the frame as well.  Take a look at the finished product...

I'll have more "scrappy" things to share tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by!

"Oh Boy, What Joy!" Layout

Here is a Christmas Layout of my son opening his presents on Christmas morning.  I love his expressions and I wanted to capture that emotion on the page and the title.  I love using collages and it was perfect for displaying lots of pictures (of which I had tons!).  On the left, is my favorite photo of him from that Christmas.  The title is layered and cut from Cuttin' Up and popped, of course!  Take a look...

I've created quite a few gifts and I will have more projects to share with you all maybe as early as later on today, but for sure tomorrow.  Now I'm off to finish Christmas shopping with my family.  Hope you're having a great Saturday...

Thanks for stopping by!

Decorating is "Snow Fun" Layout

One of my favorite things to do that really gets me in the holiday spirit is decorating for Christmas!  I absolutely LOVE SNOWMEN and I have quite a large collection that I add to every year.  So setting up my snowman station is my favorite thing.  When I saw this beautiful snowman on this paper, I knew what I wanted this layout to be about - decorating for Christmas, of course!  Now these pictures are from Christmas past and its great to see how I decorated then; in what ways some things are still the same and in what ways they are different.  I will be creating another layout of this year's decorations soon.  So here is my layout...

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you come back soon!

Reindeer Cupcakes

Hello everybody!  If you're here for the Fantabulous Cricut "Deck the Halls" Crawl, it is below this post!  You can go directly there by clicking HERE or you could read today's post and scroll right to it when you're done.  Glad you've stopped by!

This is the last week of school for us here before Winter Break and its a very busy time! Tomorrow is my son's Pre-K holiday party and we made reindeer cupcakes for the event!  My son loves doing crafty things with me and when I told him we were going to make cupcakes and decorate them like reindeer, he was beside himself!  So I wanted to share our creations with you...

I got the idea from Family Fun magazine.  To create these it is really easy.
I used tootsie roll midges for the ears (you use about a 1/3 for each cupcake).  I bought white M&Ms at Michael's for the eyes.  I had my kiddos separate brown and red M&Ms for the nose.  I used mini crackers (vanilla wafers are best, but didn't have any) to create the snout (or whatever that is called) and pretzels for the antlers.  Aren't they cute??!

I'm sure they are going to be a hit with his teacher and classmates tomorrow!

I'm so excited to have so many new followers!  I wanted to post a preview of a post from long ago that has tons of Christmas layouts since we're in the season and many of you may be in need of ideas for layouts.  Take a sneak peek at one of the layouts...
You can find more close ups and more layouts on this POST

I'll be back tomorrow with another layout and maybe even another project if I'm able to finish it tomorrow.  I hope everyone has a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Now for my project...
I wanted to be unique and different, but I was lacking inspiration (I'm in definite need of some scrapping time with my friends!) and I kept looking around my craft basket trying to find something to create with no luck.  I knew I wanted to create something for my wall and I wanted to include pictures because I'm all about scrapping, all the time! LOL!  Then I came across this piece of foam that I had kept (its from the packaging of some furniture I had bought) after my sister had advised me that I could use it with some decorative paper and hang it on my wall.  So that became the springboard for my project...

I had some beautiful paper in a My Mind's Eye Christmas paper stack I had recently bought at Michael's so I arranged it like this...

In order to be sure the paper really stayed on, I used tacky tape...

I decided to scrap pictures of Christmas past in collage form that I could update/replace/add to every year if I wanted to.  I wanted a "Christmas"-y title and I went to one of my new cartridges (which I am in love with!), Winter Frolic, that had a great phrase and an adorable snowman (my favorite!).  To attach it to the wall, I made a bow out of polka dot ribbon and hot glued it to the back of the foam.  I brought two frames I had hanging in my front room down, hung up my new Christmas Wall Hanging and voila!

Here is a close up of the title.  It is stickled and the snowman is popped (of course, hence the title of my blog!).  I also added a little white flocking to the top of the letters "Christmas" to replicate fallen snow, but you can't really see it in the photo...

A close up of the top collage which I added "Christmas 2008" text to...

The bottom collage is from Christmas 2009...

And here is another angle of my project on my wall...

In honor of my first Fantabulous Cricut Crawl/blog hop and reaching over 100 followers (which I forgot to mention a couple weeks ago, oops!) I'm going to have my first giveaway!  It includes some pretty Basic Grey papers, matching flowers, buttons, ribbon, two holiday sticker embellishments and my cute little kissing reindeer from my previous post.  Take a look...
