Preschool Layout - Girl - Sketch Challenge

Hello again, everyone!  I'm so excited to share this page with you today.  I recently became a member of this scrapping community called Let's Scrap, but I'm new to the site and don't know how to navigate it yet. But they had this great sketch this week that I decided to use to create my daughter's 1st day of Preschool page.  I wanted to use some bright colors to match the theme and her personality.  I used some pre made embellishments that I had and decided to make my own embellishment as a journaling block.  I will explain more after I show the pictures.  I had first made the layout without pictures.  When I started printing the pictures to go on the layout, I had more than I had originally thought, so it worked to create the mini photo banner at the bottom of the left page.  Finally, when I thought I was done, I felt it still needed something, so I added buttons on the top border.  So here are the pictures...

I'm in love with my little embellishment.  It started out as a scrap of white paper.  I then punched one side with my EK success punch.  I drew the blue lines and the red line to make it look like a paper and corner rounded the other two sides.  I added the super cute brads that my friend had given me and wrote in the information under it.  I then used pop dots (of course, lol!) and added it to my layout.

Here's the original sketch

Preschool Layout - Boy

Hello everyone!  I'm here to show you a layout I created of my son in PreK-4 last year.  In creating the layout, I had some of his preschool memorabilia that I wanted to include on the layout, including his "symbol" that he had for the past 2 years in that class and his name tag from his desk.  As I was putting together the layout, it needed something and my friend Elizabeth had just the thing, the most adorable school brads (just the cutest little things I've ever seen).  So I used it as the way to write my journaling and I added a ripped from the notebook feel by punching along the edge.  Finally, I popped the picture of him in the cute cowboy had holding a bunny.  Here's the finished product...

Here's a close up of the super cute brads journaling block...

Aren't they the cutest!
Well, my good friend gave me another set to be able to use on my daughter's page (thanks Elizabeth, you're so sweet!) and tomorrow you can check out the way I used them on her page.  So be sure to stop by again, then!  Have a great start to your week everyone!

Birds of a Feather Layout

Hello everyone!  Finally got around to finishing this page I've been working on of my two kiddos.  I happen to LOVE this picture of them that I took, (reminds me of a magazine photo) I think it shows beautifully the genuine love my kids have for each other (and I hope they always have this bond).  So I wanted to focus on that for this page.  I had this cute "Love Birds" paper that just worked with the photo.  I cut out one of the cute little birds and the saying "I love you bunches" and I also added a "bunch" of flowers up top.  For the title, I had a little trouble, because "love birds" doesn't really go with them, but I finally settled on "Birds of a Feather".  So here is the final product...take a look...

Here's a close up the title, a mixed font title (my favorite) using Sesame Street Font and Baby Steps.

Well I'm scrapping with some friends now, so I hope to have more to share later!
